Hi, ive been living in thailand with my partner for 2 years now.

Ive always had a tourist visa as thats what my partners employers always got for me when i went with them on a visa run.

My partner now has a new employer and i have had to do the visa run myself this time.

Ive been told that this is the last time i can get a tourist visa as i am living in thailand and have had many tourist visas back to back. I fully understand this, but no-one seems to know what to do for me to get a non-imm type O visa.

My question is, what documents do i need to obtain a non-imm type O visa and how do i go about getting one? Ive researched on the internet but they all say i need certificates such as marriage or birth certificates. ( i dont have either)

Me and my partner are both british citizens, he works with a full visa and work permit. I do-not work.

We are not married, we have a son together but my partner is not on the birth certificate as he was in thailand when our son was born.

Therefore i dont have any certificates as documentation.

Is there something else we can send instead? Surely there must be a way for us to stay together as a family.

All suggestions welcome....thanks

You are not a family under Thai law. So you will not qualify for a non immigrant O visa. It would appear ED visa for study would be your best option. Even if married your husband would have to be on extensions of stay for you to obtain dependent extensions to match and from your post it is not clear that is his status.

Many people study Thai using such a visa - requires enrollment in a course of about 4 hours per week and then extensions costing 1,900 baht every 90 days. No visa runs required after initial ED visa obtained.

Thanks! I'll definitely look into this

That was not part of your original question - you mentioned a son but not that son was here or how old. If child is under 15 there is no overstay charge for being here without a valid visa so may not be an immediate problem. Once attending school can likely obtain a visa on that basis.
