I can't believe it . . . . I mean the Farang.

No they say most (not all Thai students) are stupid.... as a result of the crappy education system they are put through which sucks the curiosity, inventiveness and thirst for knowledge out of them. And replaces it with sociopolitical gibberish and nonsense.

Surely you mean that they're poorly educated? How do you know they're stupid without giving them a good education first?

No I am not saying they are stupid, read my post. I am saying that on TV there are so many posts claiming that Thai people, not just students, are stupid. I claim the contrary, that this news article shows that Thai students can compete at a world level, and congratulations for them doing so. A rare breath of positivism on these boards for once.

And yes, I agree with the comment that much of this success may be due to individual teachers overcoming the difficulties of system in which they work. I'm sure many of us can relate from our own experiences the inspirational power of exceptional teachers.

Well done students and well done to their teachers.
