[Myanmar] Suu Kyi To Visit Refugee Camp On Thai Border

Aung San Suu Kyi will visit a Karen refugee camp along the Thai-Burmese border on Thursday, according to a report by The Bangkok Post. The Karen National Union invited the Burmese opposition leader to see living conditions in the camp in Thailand’s Tak Province. The visit will be part of Suu Kyi’s first trip outside of Burma in 24 years. While in Thailand, she will also attend and speak at the World Economic Forum on East Asia, being held in Bangkok from May 30 to June 1. She will later travel to Europe.
