BANGKOK: -- Lawmakers were denied access to the Parliament on Friday by anti-government protesters rallying outside Parliament to oppose the reconciliation bills expected to be considered today.

The yellow shirts led by the People's Alliance for Democracy joined up with the multicoloured shirts led by Tul Sitthisomwong insealing the Kan Ruen intersection on Rajvithee Road, the only access route to the Parliament.

Abhisit said the Democrat party would fight against the illegitimate move to enact the bills and would do its utmost to oppose the bills.

He said his party would like to call people who love justice to express their views under the law, to show that the people and society did not want the proposed bill.

So we have the out on bail for a 20 year fraud sentence Sonthi's PAD join up with nutter Dr. Tul of the multicoloureds blockading parliament and now Abhisit calls upon "people who love justice" to join the previous two nutters (within the law of course). Who's he going to call next? Ghostbusters?

But they want to pardon Sondhi, also, or only the mass murder Thaksin (3000 people killed in war against drugs)?

You don't seem to object to a private army concealed in a protest, so what is your problem with a REAL peaceful protest? Not enough excitement, not enough blood being spilled?

Who is being called now? PTP's private militia.

What previous illegal government are you referring to here?

Thaksins brother in law Somchai government

What, this one?

Somchai, on 17 September 2008, was elected Prime Minister of the Country by the National Assembly, receiving 298 favorable votes, more than the 163 votes for Abhisit Vejavija

King Bhumibol Adulyadej issued a Royal Proclamation appointing Somchai as the 26th Prime Minister on 18 September 2008.

a) Thaksin was banned from politic and his brother in law was just Thaksins placeholder which is illegal

B) There was massive vote buying from the PPP and electoral fraud and the PPP also got dissolved for it.

If you get dissolved for electoral fraud, than you were in power by illegal means, isn't it?

I don't believe I have ever supported the idea of "a private army concealed in a protest" who I presume you mean are the "men in black". You can't just keep on throwing around "facts" and expect one to eventually stick. As I'm told the vernacular goes, "put up or shut up".

Why would you stop there? Isn't this interesting?

"On September 29, Thailand's Election Commission spokesman Ruangrote Jomsueb said a subcommittee would investigate Somchai (30 days probe, to the Constitutional Court) per Senator Ruangkrai Leekijwattanaon's complaint on "whether Somchai violated the constitution by holding shares in Thailand's CS LoxInfo PCL, an Internet service provider that is a contract partner of CAT Telecom, a state-owned telecommunications service provider." The Thai constitution bars parliament members from holding shares in companies that do business with state enterprises, and if found guilty, Somchai would be disqualified as parliament member and ousted as prime minister.

On October 17, Thailand's anti-corruption body found Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat guilty of neglecting his duties while working in the justice department eight years ago. Members of the National Counter Corruption Commission said Somchai was wrong to suspend a corruption investigation into two senior officials while he was a permanent secretary at the justice ministry in 2000. The NCCC's investigation followed a complaint lodged by senior judge Chamnan Rawiwanpong after he petitioned for an investigation into alleged corruption involving a land sale in Phatum Thani province in 2000.

After the petition, Somchai set up a disciplinary panel, accusing Chamnan of serious wrongdoing and recommending he be fired, prompting Chamnan to make the counter-complaint.'

Not only but also

"Yongyuth Tiyapairat, the party's deputy chairman, was deemed guilty by a court verdict on electoral fraud. Along with the coalition members of Thai Nation Party and Neutral Democratic Party, the People's Power Party was dissolved by the Constitutional Court on December 2, 2008[10], with party executives stripped of their political rights for five years. The non-executive MPs of the parties were subsequently given 60 days to reorganize under new parties."

The yellow shirts will gradually raise the [political] temperature and might resort to violence," he told The Nation.

At about 11am yesterday, a red-shirt news agency reported that red-shirt supporters from Chiang Mai were heading to Bangkok to "protect" the Parliament from their rivals, the yellow shirts.

I'm sure that a peaceful ending will come from this. The "peaceful red shirts" will probably launch a few grenades and that will be the end of it.

Samak formed a coalition government on the 29th January 2008. The PAD invaded Government House on the 26th August 2008. Samak stripped of Premiership due to conflict of interest (the cooking show incident) on the 9th September 2008. Senior Deputy PM Somchai was nominated as the partys choice for PM and beat Abhisit in the vote by the National Assembly. He became Prime Minister on the 17th September. The PPP were dissolved on 2nd December 2008.

Does this help?

CONTROVERSIAL BILL

Protesters seal off access to Parliament

The Nation, Thai News Agency

BANGKOK: -- Lawmakers were denied access to the Parliament on Friday by anti-government protesters rallying outside Parliament to oppose the reconciliation bills expected to be considered today.

The yellow shirts led by the People's Alliance for Democracy joined up with the multicoloured shirts led by Tul Sitthisomwong in sealing the Kan Ruen intersection on Rajvithee Road, the only access route to the Parliament.

Some Pheu Thai MPs sneaked out of Parliament by ducking under a wire fence. Unconfirmed reports suggest that ruling party MPs are looking for an alternative venue to convene a parliamentary session after so few MPs were able to make it to the House chamber.

PAD spokesman Panthep Puapongpan restated the group's opposition to the reconciliation bills. However, he said he could not confirm whether or not the yellow shirts would storm Parliament.

He said it depended on the situation.

Democrat Party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva on Thursday met urgently with Democrat MPs and later told a news conference that his party would do everything possible to thwart adoption of the reconciliation bills.

He said the proposed bill should not be called reconciliation as it will cause deep rifts both inside and outside the Parliament.

The content of the measures are also damaging to the legal principles of the state, annulling court verdicts in political cases, which will "whitewash" individuals who committed offences during the political turmoil, and removing the party dissolution law, Abhisit said.

He earlier pointed out that the bills would also help fugitive former premier Thaksin Shinawatra move beyond his corruption cases without ever taking responsibility for them.

Abhisit said the Democrat party would fight against the illegitimate move to enact the bills and would do its utmost to oppose the bills.

He said his party would like to call people who love justice to express their views under the law, to show that the people and society did not want the proposed bill.

The Democrat party will support all moves against the bills, he said, provided that the actions are within the legal framework and in accordance with the Constitution.

The urgent party meeting followed the House of Representatives vote by 272 to 2 yesterday to move up four reconciliation bills for consideration today amid protests by the Democrat Party MPs. The vote followed a meeting of 35 standing committee chairpersons to decide whether the four bills were financially related.

After four hours of discussion, the committee chairpersons voted 22 to 1 that the bills were not financially related draft laws and that the House could proceed with deliberating the four reconciliation bills without endorsement from the prime minister.

And was under investigation for illegal share holdings, and found guilty of dereliction of duty (Oct17) for trying to thwart a corruption investigation. Just another lowlife Shinawatra clan puppet.

None of my business of course, but if your staff who are on this demonstration are still being paid their salary by you, then they are being paid to attend the demonstration aren't they?

And if that is the case, you being a Farang and all, aren't you getting actively engaged in Thai politics?

None of my business of course...

Quite a weak effort there really... dontcha think?

So you, buying a beer in the local watering house, which is owned by someone with a political affiliation means you are actively financing this political movement...

And to counter your next argument of 'i dont drink beer/goto bars' the same could be said for the guy who delivers your drinking water, the lady who makes your somtam or the motorbike taxi guy who drives you down the road when you dont want to walk etc.

I am NOT paying them to go there. I am allowing it, the same as I allowed my male staff to be at the birth of his son, or all the staff went to a funeral. We also continue to pay the salary when they went to the funeral....

I think also in Farang countries you are paid on holidays, no matter if you go to Greek on holidays or if you attent the demonstrations there.

The yellow shirts need to stop rioting and form a political party. Take their case to the people at election time.

Unfortunately, they know they are outnumbered and besides, mob rule has proven effective.
