[Myanmar] Ge Sees Opportunity In Burma’S Energy Needs

US conglomerate General Electric plans to boost its presence in Burma to meet urgent electricity and health care needs there, its regional head said on Thursday. Stuart Dean, the chief executive of GE operations in the Association of South East Asian Nations, said the company is keen to capitalize on Burma’s emergence from decades of isolation and the suspension of many United States sanctions, according to a Reuters report. Dean said GE would open an office in Burma as soon as the US government was ready to issue the licenses required to do so.
