What makes you think that following a Buddhist philosophy would be against Christiany. As Buddha said do not worship me as a god, there are many gods to follow. As I had no religion even though raised a Christian, a loosely followed Zen seems to work. I'm too utterly ruthless and warlike to follow closely.
