We appear to have a couple of interlopers come to gloat... :o

Here's hoping your chickens turn into emus and kick your fowlhouses down .... :D

Last time we won at home vs ManU there was no such thing as Thai Visa, :bah:

I heard this is the place to discuss the Bolton game. As it doesn't happen that often, I thought I should do my part:

Bolton 1 ManU 0.

Looking forward to a repeat of the 1978-9 season where a Frank Worthington brace sealed the last double I remember.

Excuse the large font, but just in case it doesn't happen again at home for another 30 years, I want to make sure I can still find it. :D On the subject of eyesight, perhaps if Fergusson could be a little more gracious on the days he doesn't get his own way, rather than throw the toys out of the cot, complaining about the referee, people would be less tempted to rub his nose in it :D . Poor show that he couldn't just for once, acknowledge Bolton's performance, and a deserved win, instead blaming it all on the ref.

BTW As for the chickens, they've been running around at home in the Bolton roost for years. So no worries there :D

I'm glad you enjoyed watching the game, might be only a few left this season as I don't think Turdvisions cover much of the Championship. :D

On a serious note, well done Fletcht your guys deserved it, as much as I hated watching it.

I've been keeping my head down today Mr Toad as there have been some horrible "things" coming out of the woodwork and other slimey places very recently....... :o

You're a gent sir.

As for watching Championship football on True that would be a real nightmare. Bad enough watching the Thais stumble thru Premiership commentary, where at least the football is OK. Then again I doubt you've many concerns about having to watch ManU in the Championship on True.

I assume you want to watch a re-run of the Bolton ManU game. Unfortunately you're out of luck.

For info you can find the Channel 3 schedules on:

http://www.thaitv3.com/schedule/schedule.html

There's some other game on live at 05.30am on Channel 7 tho'. Not the Bolton game you wanted, but something to do with ManuU playing Sporting Lisbon which Ronaldo is prepared for. Can't see you being interested in that though. Would be a bit dull after Saturday. :o

Look's like United are making a few changes for this evenings game. Will be interesting to see the reaction from the team after the dissapointments of the weekend.

My good lady here informs me that it is on Ch 7 at 2:30 (For a 2:45 K.O. I suspect), so I might have to set the clock and get some early beauty sleep.

But not before I've given Fergie a ring and a Bollocking over last saturday's display. :o

He's better than Beckham

Christiano we Love You Too Much.

Some of the others ought to be ashamed to pick up their pay packets this week

and I will name them and shame them :-

Saha, Kuzszak, Nani & Fletcher, any other opinions.

Vidic played well, (what an honest workman he is) Evra dashes here, there and everywhere

and I like the way Anderson is progressing and maturing.

Once Fergie brought on Giggs and Tevez we were a different side - all Ok for the last match

which will be in the week before Liverpool game, can't wait for that week.

Ken, I didn't get the chance to watch the game as I really struggle with early mornings during the working week :o , It is interesting that you have mentioned Saha as being shameful. He was crap ath the weekend, and looks a shadow of the player he was at the beginning of last season. I'm pretty sure he'll be on his way come January to make way for Berbatov or maybe Et'o. In the end good that they got the result. As for Evra, Anderson and Vidic they are quickly showing whatgood players they are. I had to laugh a month or so ago when Wankchai :D in the Bangkok Post was saying that Evra was a poor player, he obviously has little knowledge of the game, as even last season he was starting to show some excellent progress.

How long has that "step over tw4t" been playing at United now?

After the game last night Ronaldo said, yes they where my old team but now i play for "MANCHESTER" and they are my team. He doesn't play for MANCHESTER, there is another team and no language barrier can excuse him for saying that. Get it right, dipstick :o

It was a corking free kick though :D

For a "Dipstick" He sure is a fine footballer.

I'll make a thousand excuses for his English skills, for such a sweet timer of a football.

Thanks to the "Step-Over Kid"

I see he got booked for being a "Dive over kid" last night :D

Edit. Although personally i thought it was a penalty and had it been given, i would earned 9 points in the prediction league. United never do me any favours :o

Ferguson fumes at Ronaldo booking

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has described Cristiano Ronaldo's yellow card for diving against Fulham as "ridiculous".

Ronaldo, who grabbed both goals in the 2-0 win, went down under a challenge from Fulham keeper Antti Niemi.

Rob Styles booked him for simulation but Ferguson said: "Why would he want to go down? He was on a hat-trick.

"His reputation from years ago is still playing on the minds of referees. It was a ridiculous decision."

The Manchester United manager said that Ronaldo no longer deserved the diving tag that was attached to the Portuguese winger in his early days at the club.

"It is quite unfair because he is nothing like that now", said Ferguson. "He is more mature and a magnificent footballer."

Replays showed that Niemi did not touch the ball and forced Ronaldo to take evasive action but it was unclear how much contact was made.

Ronaldo himself refused to condemn Styles but was certain the referee had got the decision wrong.

"I try to do my job and I try to play honestly", he said. "I respect the referee's decision but I do not have the same opinion because I thought it was a penalty.

"If you see the replay, the goalkeeper never touched the ball, so it is frustrating the referee gave me a yellow card."

United's assistant manager Carlos Queiroz was more concerned about the booking leading to Ronaldo being suspended at some stage in the future.

"Ronaldo has reasons to complain this time," he said. "The team should have had a penalty, but what is totally unfair is it was a wrong decision.

"It gives him one more yellow which damages him and the team."

However, Fulham boss Lawrie Sanchez said that he was sure there had been no contact between Niemi and Ronaldo.

"Antti was trying to tell the referee he had not touched Ronaldo - and he hadn't," said Sanchez.

"Maybe if Ronaldo had dragged his feet, he would have got a penalty but he didn't, he sprawled over him. Is that a penalty or not? I don't know.

"But if he had gone straight over the top, he probably would have scored."

According to BBC Radio Five Live's Mike Ingham who was covering the game, it's not the first time this season that Rob Styles has been involved in controversy.

He said: "Earlier in the season he awarded Chelsea a very debatable and generous penalty which earned them a point at Liverpool."

Clearcut penalty, but this is a ref that likes to take the headlines. A spell in the Wessex league for Mr Styles if you ask me, his performances in other games this season have been questionable.

Reformed diver Ronaldo is still paying for sins of the past, says Giggs

Daniel Taylor

Wednesday December 5, 2007

The Guardian

Ryan Giggs has joined Sir Alex Ferguson in coming to the defence of Cristiano Ronaldo as the footballer of the year attempts to persuade the rest of the English game that he does not deserve his reputation as a serial diver. Ronaldo's fondness for looking for free-kicks earlier in his career almost certainly contributed to the referee Rob Styles denying him a penalty in Manchester United's 2-0 defeat of Fulham on Monday and Giggs, like Ferguson, feels his team-mate is being treated unfairly by match officials.

Ferguson has described it as "unbelievable" that Styles brandished a yellow card in Ronaldo's direction after he seemed to have been brought down by Fulham's goalkeeper, Antti Niemi, and Giggs spoke of the feeling at Old Trafford that the club's leading scorer is paying because of his past mistakes. Ronaldo, famously branded a "cheat" by the Middlesbrough manager, Gareth Southgate, may have nobody but himself to blame for that, but the official line from United is that he has eradicated diving from his game and should be treated the same as everyone else.

"I think Ronnie had that reputation [as a diver] when he first came here, but that's gone now," said Giggs. "It was hard for the referee because it happened so quickly, but because Ronnie was running so fast the referee has had to make a split-second decision. I think because there was no obvious contact, he didn't give a penalty - but all Ronnie did was try to avoid the keeper, so in my view that cannot be seen as simulation."

Ferguson's complaint after the game was not solely with Styles but also Niemi, accusing him of "conning" the referee by making diving gestures in Ronaldo's direction. The television replays proved the Finn had done little more than indicate to Styles there had been no contact.

However, Giggs was the next closest player and he was convinced Ronaldo had legitimate reasons for going down. "Niemi has tried to stop Ronnie and his arm has followed his leg, so everyone thought it was a penalty," he said. "I think when the referee sees it again he will realise he has made a mistake. But you'd have to ask the referee about that."

Ronaldo could conceivably have been sent off for dissent after sarcastically applauding Styles' decision to book him, but since the end of the game the player has chosen to handle the situation with dignity. Yesterday he refused to criticise Styles, even though the decision deprived him of the chance to score the first hat-trick of his United career.

"I don't want to speak too much about the penalty incident," he said. "All I will say is that I always try to play in an honest way. It's frustrating because he gave me a yellow card, but football is like that - the referee makes a mistake, the players sometimes make mistakes. I don't think the ref did a good job on this occasion, but I have to respect his decision."

Did he jump or was he pushed?

Sep 03 v Charlton A

United win 2-0 as Ronaldo first shows signs of collapsibility when tackled. Dodgy.

May 04 v Aston Villa A

Expresses disbelief on being booked for diving. Is later sent off in 2-0 win. Dodgy.

Dec 06 v Middlesbrough A

Tumbles for a penalty in 2-1 win. "He has a history of it," says Gareth Southgate. Fouled.

Feb 07 v Tottenham A

Another fall, another penalty as United win 4-0. "It wasn't a penalty," says Martin Jol. Dodgy.

Mar 07 v Lille H

Booked for diving in penalty area under Mathieu Chalmé's challenge in 1-0 win. Fouled.

Mar 07 v Middlesbro' H

Wins penalty to secure 1-0 win to cries of "cheat" from the Middlesbrough bench. Fouled.

One thing for sure, Southgate really has a complex about Ronaldo, for no other reason than his team are <deleted> and Ronaldo continues to torment them.
