[Myanmar] Protesters In Canberra Call For End To Arakan Violence

Up to 100 protesters rallied outside Australia’s Parliament in Canberra on Wednesday to urge the  Australian government and the United Nations to protect stateless Rohingya Muslims in Burma’s Arakan State. The protesters said hundreds of Rohingya have been killed and thousands displaced by more than a week of communal violence between Buddhists and Muslims. Official figures are in the low double digits, with casualties being reported on both sides. The protesters said they would take their rally to the Burmese embassy on Thursday.
