What Do You Call This Service?

Hi guys,

Need some info regarding the following type of service from mobile operators (I know might not be the right place to post so please move it to the right section OP)

What is the name of the service which local radio stations, TV stations and some newspapers use where there is a six digit number, and the user can SMS their request (dedication, message etc) and it gets displayd on TV or is heard on the radio etc....

Are those numbers provided by the network? Is it posible to get this service with an unified SMS number for all networks, and if yes from where they can be obtained? Is there an outside service provider same as per SMS marketing gateway?

I work for a TV station in Singapore. We use those you mentioned above in our weekly LIVE talk show. The telephone number is provided by the telco. The banner at the bottom of the screen is provided by a third party who flashes the number (in our show it is a phone number to call in, a twitter update, the poll question and the vote numbers). Another company provides the poll when someone votes and it gets updated on the TV screen LIVE. Two different companies are involved. The software written for the vote question and poll was done by a China company, the same company that did the Beijing Olympic. Hope you can understand my reply. thanks!

Sorry for my late reply, long weekend . I think I have understood you reply fully, and wanted to say thanks again for that, now my question to is: Are you aware of this service providers anywhere in Thailand? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
