[Myanmar] Picketers Protest Bbc Coverage Of Arakan Violence

A group of around 20 people gathered in front of the British embassy in Rangoon on Thursday to protest against the BBC’s coverage of recent violence in Arakan State. The protesters, who also targeted the Burma Campaign UK, accused the international media and other groups of portraying a series of clashes between Muslims and Buddhists in the state as a a religious conflict. They also maintained that  foreign news agencies were siding with the Rohingya, a Muslim minority, in their reporting. According to official figures, 16 of those killed were Rohingya, while 13 were ethnic Arakanese Buddhists.
