Asus 1225/R252 Netbook Startup

Featured Replies

Have just purchased a ASUS 1225/R252 Netbook..

Manual says on Startup the Windows Wizard will launch automatically.... It does not.

What I get is Express Gate Cloud with Google Chrome Browser.. with no indication whatsoever about Windows. On the bottom right side, there is an icon to start OS. If I click this I get a popup.. "Windows is not detected" plus "Do you want to execute Windows Installation Assistance?" I click yes and it goes back to the original Express Gate Cloud...

Has anyone experienced this and how to overcome?

Have tried that several times.. Just goes to Express Gate Cloud with Google Chrome sitting on top...

You bought a laptop without Windows? Does it have a Windows 7 Certificate of Authority sticker underneath. If it doesn't, you don't have Windows installed.

It has a Windows sticker... I understand that it is the Home version.

I have just sent the unit off to the dealer for "action"..

I have an Asus 1225/R252-serie notebook what isn't even 6 months old. While my notebook has start up problems all of the sudden while I was using it, the ventilator started to make a weird noise. Kind of a vrooming noise. I shut it off turned it back on, didn't help. Is there anyone who knows what the problem might be?
