Election This Weekend On Koh Samui ?

It appears there is an election of some sort on Samui this coming weekend.

Anyone know (A) what its for (local, council, bi-election ) & ( will it mean no alcohol sales from 6pm Saturday ?

It seems to be particularly low key with very few billboards being posted but the g/f assures me that there is something being voted on.

Well it will nice when their pickups stop driving around blasting out very load music!!!

There are different pictures of candidates one each of them, they go past my place at least 4 times a day!

I think they try to out do each other with loadness of the music... I was told there was an election, but no idea for what!

it is al election to select the boss of all bosses. only memembers of the gambinao are invited to cast a vote.

As for the election in samui i do not know.

Tesco Chawang has heaps of beer in the entrance isle "on sale" ..... buy a case and be Happy! ..... a few bags of ice... easy to get at 7-11 and you'll be chilled!

So true corruption is alive and well on Samui. A guy on a motor bike just turned up and gave my wife 500bt to go vote for No 2 on Sunday.

Bars can open all they like, there is NO alcohol sale policy.

I thought the bars recieved an official government document stating closure for elections, as far as i am aware this has not happened. So who says the bars are closed.
