rebo1974 Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 Me and the wife have to make a visa run (or flight) and are looking for recommendations on places to go with the ability to get a 60 day visa. Tried Kuala Lumpur a couple months back, huge queues and it didnt seem that you could get a 60 day visa there (our plans changed when we arrived so no longer needed to go through the tourist visa process). Anyone have any preference of location? Any comments would be appreciated, tried going through the "visa run" section from the home page, most info is 5+ years old.
Rooo Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 Here are a couple of threads discussing visa runs. As for recommendations for visa run companies, we do not allow it on this forum http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/558780-visa-run-penang-bus-from-border-crossing/page__hl__+visa%20+run#entry5353060 http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/519564-visa-run/page__hl__%20visa%20%20run
rebo1974 Posted June 18, 2012 Author Posted June 18, 2012 thanks Rooo, will browse through them. I wasnt after recommendations regarding companies, I am interested more in locations worth going to that double as a visa/run and holiday/sightseeing. Since there is many countries etc Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam,Malaysia, Cambodia etc etc which place is everyone's favourite as a double experience of small holiday and the ability to get a 60 day visa (which I presume is not everywhere). Cheers
NHJ Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 single entry is given at every place exept if you have a previous history.
notmyself Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 single entry is given at every place exept if you have a previous history. Couple of friends have got a single entry in KL over the last 3-4 weeks with all sorts of stuff in their passports. No idea about a double or triple (lol) because they never asked for one. Valid for three months only which means nothing on a single entry.
BigC Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 same problem comes up every now and then. could try Hong Kong. takes about 1 night ( 2 working days) then get the boat to Maccau. play casinos to got do some tourist stuff like the big bungee jump. then fly air asia bck to bangkok thenmaybe connect t surat or to bbk airways to samui. hong kong is a bit busy and nothing like maccau. there is dysnety land andanother theme park can't rememebr the name of it.thats hould kill time. about 250 HKD for day pass. Also the emebassy in HK seems more friendly
Tropicalevo Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 I haven't needed a 60 day visa for quite a while - but I got my last one in Pnom Penh. 2 - 3 working days. Friendly people and no extra payments. I do not know if they still do them there - anyone out there have any ideas?
rebo1974 Posted June 21, 2012 Author Posted June 21, 2012 thanks to everyone that took the time to comment Followed the links that Rooo put up and found some great comments from Paradiselost about Phnom Penh and about some poker games there too!! Double whammy, visa and poker, brilliant!! Taking the air asia option from Suratthani -BKK - Phnom Penh and back again. Not mega cheap but half the price of Bangkok Air, not surprisingly. Have read some mixed reports regarding receiving a 60 day visa in PP, with reports of anything from 2 to 7 days to collect and from $35 to $70 in price, plus agents "that help" :-) Found a reasonable Irish Pub that also has rooms available and right in the touristy location. If anything of interest happens, will drop a message or two. Thanks again to Rooo and Paradiselost Shot boyz!!
Rooo Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 Glad it worked out, give us a report when you get back. Cheers.
