What % Of Your Income You Spending On Accomodation?

Featured Replies

I'm spending about 12 % of my monthly income on accomodation, is it a good figure? Just wanted to hear other members numbers and explanations. Thanks for the input.

Average for me over the past couple of years has been 33%. This figure could have been halved if I was living alone and didn't need quite so much space from an apartment.

Aitch

Aproximately 5% of my income for a house in Chiang Mai...

After buying the property and taking into consideration only monthly bills (not food nor car) about 3%

So from what I see Chiangmai and Koenkaen is a great places to save on accomodation. Bkk is not so easy, especially if you want to live in decent place.

Don't know, I've got a good friend living in Bangger and I believe his costs are about the same? I recon on about 20K baht a month for power, water, ubc, internet, phone... etc etc Thought that would be about the norm, or am I missing something?????

Rent?

10% of income.

I'm very lucky to have a decent room in my university that comes with free high-speed Internet and only costs 2000B for rent, 500B for a weekly (shoddy) cleaning & bedchange service and 1000B (yeah, I know, quite pricey, but I do keep 2 computers, fridge, aircon & many chargers for things) for electricity.
