Were these taken at the 'Black House' in Chiang Rai?
The latter is not really a temple, but rather an open-air museum with the strangest collection of animal skins, stuffed animals and furniture made from animal legs/horns, you have ever seen.

I just visited Wat Rak Thin Thai in north-eastern part of Chiang Rai province.  It is the most peaceful place I been to here in Thailand.  I was just standing still for at least five minutes and enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere. 

Then the monk came out, a very nice man from Bangkok.  He told me he had been working in Australia for 20 years. When he came back to Bangkok he became a monk. After one year in Bangkok he moved to the north.

Something a bit different, literally  at the end of our Soi ,they is  a single  monk ,who got donated 3 rie of land , he is going to build a retreat/meditation centre ,been there  6 months now.

This Buddha statue as you can see, arrived  in "kit form ", and yesterday  they had a big ceremony for the unavailing, he is even sat on a rotating plinth .
