Honda Freed: Any Good?

Recommended Posts

I'm doing a test drive in a Freed tomorrow, it's mostly just out of interest (I went into the showroom to look at the latest Jazz) since it's not a very attractive design and with the jump seats in place the cargo area is surprisingly small and a difficult shape. However, in the front it does feel very spacious and comfortable.

Anyone have experience owning one?

We've had ours for a year and it's been great. Actually, with the jump seats up, it holds a huge amount of stuff. I can also fit two bikes in it without taking off a wheel! Also great is the sliding door. You can be parked in, and still get out. We've done several road trips with it and it is very comfy and gets pretty good milage. One thing I don't like is that it does not have ISOFIX/LATCH for a car seat. Why are kids here less worth protecting? Oh we are a 3 person family I should add so don't have much need for the jump seats. In fact I wish I could figure out how to remove them.

I test drove one and was less impressed than I'd expected, even though it wasn't really the car I'd gone to the dealer to view. I have a family of four and I think that the Jazz will work better for us - I certainly enjoyed the drive better.

Thanks for your input, anyway.

The tail gate is huge and needs loads of space to open. Agree that the jazz is better, but if you don't need the versatility of the jazz, then choose the city instead.
