IrishMick Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 Ban Kham Kaen is my partners home village. We plan to make a visit in August. I cannot find any information what so ever about the place. Any members here know anything about the place? Thanks
KhunBENQ Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 (edited) No information whatsoever? I dont know the place personally, as it is not on my route to Khon Kaen that I do weekly. Just to be sure (always some misunderstanding possible): ask your partner whether it is in "Khon Kaen" province, จังหวัด ขอนแก่น. Ask whether your partner knows this: http://www.tourismthailand.org/see-do-thip/attraction-detail?attraction_id=3475 But it is easy to find some info via Google, just search for "Kham Kaen". Looks like a very small quiet place in some nature reserve area? Is is also to be found on Google Maps and probably other maps. http://goo.gl/maps/XnL8 Congrats! It is only 12 km from KK city, so about 20km from the airport. I have a 100km to go. So I wouldn't bother too much about the place, just make sure you have some reasonable transportation to KK. I would spent most of the day there! Edited July 2, 2012 by KhunBENQ

I believe this is a better candidate (notice Google spells the name "Kham Khaen" with an "h"). But wthout more information from the OP it's impossible to say for sure. Still not very far from Khon Kaen though. Sophon Edited July 2, 2012 by Sophon
IrishMick Posted July 2, 2012 Author Posted July 2, 2012 If it was easily found on Google I would not have to get flamed here!! Sent from my HTC Wildfire S A510e using Thaivisa Connect App
Sophon Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 Do you really believe you are getting flamed? But again, without more information from you no-one can be sure which village you are talking about. Such as, how far is it from Khon Kaen and in which direction, which major roads are near the village, can you get the Thai spelling of the vilage name from your wife, any famous landmarks near the village? KhunBENQ Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 Flamed? What is up in this Isaan forum? Another member feels harrased by an exclamation mark ("better use the visa section!"). Want to get flamed: find your way alone! Last post in this thread,
IrishMick Posted July 6, 2012 Author Posted July 6, 2012 I can use Google myself, so why do members think they are being helpful by regurgitating what Google says. This forum is supposed to be a place where one can get information from people who had personal experiences of Thailand and its provinces. Not Google warrior's. The village I have asked about is Ban Kham Khaen (kam kan, kham kaen) in Mancha Khiri I would greatly appreciate some information from members who know this village and have maybe made a visit Thank you in advance for your replies
ubonrthai Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 Ask your partner to type it in Thai script or write it and post a picture. It's difficult to find little "ban's" in English.
