Email Sent From Own Account....To Me.

Featured Replies

How can a spam email from a spam company be sent from my email...to me ??

Just got one today and have had maybe 2 or 3 others prior.

So to be clear....if my email was [email protected]........ then I recieved a spam email for advertising from [email protected]....

How does this happen ??

No other funny stuff within my account.....just this.

E-mail spoofing

Either that or you're lonely and needed to talk to someone. biggrin.png

It was a Rolex watch offer....I don't like watches....do not own one....so not the kind of material I would send myself.

you can open the source code of the email.

Most probable it comes from somewhere else.

Like for example I could set your email address, I could not get your emails but I can send out emails in your name.

There is nothing you can do about it.

PS.: Do you need a Rolex?

Thanks...nice to know how it works.

No, not want rolex...

check your Sent messages, too. If there is other stuff there that you didn't send, sure sign that your password has been hacked. Easy enough to change hotmail password, check the forums here or google, might be a day or so inconvenience for you. AA

Yes if it is something like hotmail/google etc. Changing the password can't hurt....I doubt it will help, but as there are no disadvantages, I recommend to do it.

Couldn't he just buy a new notebook and a Rolex? laugh.png

Maybe your subconscious is telling you that you do need a rolex?

Mine is always telling me I need viagra for some reason.

Do some anti-virus and spyware scans as previously advised and changing your password is always a good idea. In cases like this, there is a possibility that all of your contacts also received the same email from you ie your mail account has been hijacked by a spammer.

If you PM your email address than I can set our server that every email containing the word Viagra will be forwarded to you.

I think there are some nice offers.....
