Do you know any place that do the meditation cause or with a group in Bangkok?

I can do it by my self but would like to meet up with the group some time.

There is a series of talkscoming up somewhere later this year. I will PM you if I get details.

Otherwise maybe try the WFB

http://www.wfb-hq.org/

who do stuff in Thai, and once a month in English.

Other than that Wat Maha Taht used to have various things going on ... you would have to cntact Section 5 there.

Try this thread pinned to the head of our Buddhism forum branch:

Guide to Meditation Temples in Thailand

Also search the forum for 'Wat Mahathat' for all the current details on the courses they run there.

go to www.dhamma.org

There you'll find detailed information about Vipassana meditation as taught by S.N. Goenka, it is a very pure and authentic tradition.

Click on "centers in Asia" and then on Prachiburi, Thailand for details on courses, there are 10 day courses almost every month. (There is also a center in Pitsanoluk).

There is a group of meditators who meet regulalry in Bangkok and have periodic one day retreats in Bangkok, it is open to anyone who has completed a 10 day course first.

Wat Maha Taht have group practise 3 times a day ... morning, afternoon and evening. Goto Section 5. There is no teaching given in English though there is usually a Thai monk around who can speak English who can advise.

"The meditation cause is to end suffering." What's that Meadish??

- The cause of meditation is to end suffering. :o

True, if a person's mind has not been sifted through the fine straining of steady concentration, it will be in the clutch of temptations or of various groups of 'mara'. When a person has practised concentration correctly and sufficiently, he will have pure thoughts, even to the extent of 'Dhamma'.

Say, an impure thought of a scantily clad, voluptuous and beautiful lady came to your mind, how do you banish it or do you indulge in it? Assuming, she's your neighbour's wife, and doing her laundry outside.

If thoughts of a another person's body keeps you from being able to concentrate on your meditation then the Buddha has suggest different things. One of these is to consider all of the various parts and pieces of the body such as puss, blood, liver, saliva, spleen, mucous, etc. and try to see the body as it truly is and how the individual components are not that attractive.

I think meadish sweetball means that the reason or purpose of meditation is to end suffering. The cause of meditation is of course an act ofvolition, stemming from a desire to end suffering.
