Arethais Getting Into Bed ?

It has been my experience that a lot of Thais prefer to eat , sleep and have sex on the floor . Now with the availability of credit , are more Thais getting into debt to buy beds ? Does it really matter which direction they point in ?

I was referring to the cardinal points . The floor thing I understand , through experience .
