Anyone from Chiang Mai been up to the Paradise Casino at the golden Triangle? Impressions?

Was thinking of going up to take a look and maybe spend the night.

Any info would be helpful.

Thanks.

When you come back can you get a 60 day visa?

I was wondering about that too. Or is the casino on one of those Islands that you can just cross the river without any immigration procedures? Like the one that the long boats take the tourists to?

I'll shoot up there this week and check it out.

* The only place you can get a visa is a Thai embassy or consulate.

* If you already have a multiple entry visa, then just going out of Thailand (getting stamped out) and coming back in will start your next entry. So if that situation is you then likely yes. In places like Mae Sai you have the option of getting stamped out officially or leaving your passport while you're outside and then come back without getting stamped out and back in again. Not sure if this is also possible at this casino place, but that would be good to know.

Was up there recently. First, you do not need an exit permit, nor are you stamped in or out of the country. immigration makes a copy of your passport to have until you return. You never officially leave Thailand. The casino is rather limited in the games it has, asian casino games. Rooms are around 2,500 baht, very nice room. If you're a real gambler, the room is free. Nothing really to do there except gamble. It's a casino geared to Thais, only takes Thai money. The casino on the Laos side is geared to Chinese and takes Yuan and US Dollars, not Thai baht.

You may want to go up and stay in the golden triangle side and check out the casino during the day and return before night (immigration closes at 6).

Golden Triangle was very pretty country, 4 hours by car from Chiang Mai, bus about 5.

I would like to provide some information that was totally accurate as of JULY 10th concerning visiting the King Roman Casino in the Golden Triangle Special Economic Zone(GTSEZ) on the Lao side of the Golden Triangle.

1. There is nothing to be paid now to Thai Immigration (formerly it was 500 baht)

2. There is no record of you leaving Thailand- you don't have any contact with Thai Immigration

3. A speedboat will take you to the Lao Immigration point across the river free of charge

4. You pay Lao Immigration 200 baht and they keep your passport but do not stamp it

5. Air-conditioned limo will take you to the King Roman Casino (if you want to know about it- PM to me)

6. You can stay at the hotel overnight- not recommended by us or

7. Guest Realtions at the Casino will take you back to the Immigration post to retrieve your passport and speed boat will take you back to Thailand

8. The last return trip is 18:00 as they can't operate on the river after dark
