Hua Hin and it runs pretty well. I never had a problem with that boat, it's a Nissan FS700 with a 115HP Yamaha.

Price is fixed and same for everyone at 397 000. Last offer was 370 000 from a thai guy but i'm not in a hurry to sell the boat.

What is the thai law for tinted windows ?

Sent from my GT-N7000 using Thaivisa Connect App

By law, normally no more than 40 % tint is allowed on any window. This law is unknown from the vast majority of the Thai. I got 60 % on the sides and 40 % on the windshield and rear window. I tried it at night under the rain and it still is workable. in daytime, occupants of the car can still be seen inside, even through side windows.

How do they (bib) check if it's 30, 40 or 60 % tinted? Does one have to show a document from the manufacturer? blink.png

Most reputable tint manufacturers mark their tint. The tinting on my Isuzu is marked and can be seen when the doors are opened looking to the outside.

Yes well i don't really use my car at night very often. It will take a few weeks to have that picture i believe, maybe more. If i just sit on my car in the mountain you wont see anything, i need to take a picture inside the traffic in the city.

I took a few pictures at night, it's my phone camera so the quality is not very good, also my camera don't like low light.

Anyway i drove my car at night without problems, i can see everything clearly.

I have 60% on the front window.. of our new car we had 40% on the old one and are going back to 40% 60% is just too dark. Its really a big difference.

@hohan if you think that is clear... then i wonder about your eyesight a bit. But as you said it could be the camera.

Johan, could you tell us at what time the last picture was taken.Anyway, you posted 3 pictures at stationary speed from which the middle one is taken into a spot with bright lights but imagine the eyesight of the other two and especially the first one at a speed of 100 km/hour.

Anyway, I'm 100% sure that with a 90% dark film on your side windows you can't see your own side visors at night.

I can see clearly the side visors. I drove at night in the mountain without any road lights. I had no problems and i could see properly on my side visors.

20h00 was the time i took the pictures approx.

Also keep in mind that cameras don't like low light, i can see two times better than in the picture. I drove my car at 100km/h and i had no problems with vision at all.

Allright, now tell us you even wear those sunglasses from your avatar while you're driving the car at night. biggrin.png

Maybe you should check your lights or change them by Xenon. Because i have 80% on front and back and 90% on side windows and i see everything perfectly.

Maybe they installed your film on the wrong side or maybe it's a super cheap film.

I installed 60% on front and sides and i still have problems. So maybe your just exceptional Johan. Most people would have problems with 80 / 90% film, your just a special case.

Yes, probably cheap film. I like the 3M Crystalline much better than the cheap Lamina on my old car. I have 70 on the windshield and can see perfectly at night, and it really keeps the heat out.

I drove once in the Philippines with a rental car and 80 % film... During the day it was not a big issue, but at night, even on well-lit roads, it was a nightmare seeing through to the mirrors. In parking, I would have to pull down the windows to see correctly...

Right now, with my 60 % tint, night vision is not an issue, even though when it rains, visibility is awful (but this is due to rain drops accumulating on side window and mirrors, not to the tint).

Hi

I need to change my window film. Toyota fitted silver xtracool 40% front screen and 60% side and rear. I hate it and want to know which is the best for my car as i cant see out at night and driving at night in the rain is impossible.

Please get in touch.

Thanks

Phil

Hi Johan,

many of the window films are different. From manufacturer to manufacturer, colours and shades vary but can produce the same results depending on the quality of the film, and what technology is used to make it. A 20% grey reflective film will look completely different from a 20% carbon black film. The reflective will offer better heat reduction, but the carbon film will look clearer. It is a personal choice!

Some window films will block gps, or smart pass on the tollways. many things you need to consider and ask.

If you are worried about too dark at night, ask for some samples to check at night.

I am the owner of one of the largest window tinting companies in Thailand and stock 70 different types of films. If you needed any help or info either PM me or visit SolarKool.biz we also offer a mobile fitting service in Bangkok and Pattaya.

Discount offerered for Thaivisa members just mentioned it when calling.

Mine is 3M grey,non metallic...

ive got 60per cent on sides and 40percent on front and back and i can see clearly at night but i dont drive much at night in pattaya.

This is what I have on my car and I wouldn't go darker than that for night driving.

I like the 3M Crystalline, pricey, but the best I've seen.

How much would it cost for a small car? 15K or so?

My 4-door D-Max was 21K, including the windshield and the shell. 70/30

Much better at stopping heat, and great visibility. Much cooler than the darker Lamina I had on the old car.

Helo,

Do you know if silver/metallic film allows to see at night ?

Why don't we meet more cars with this kind of film ?

From outside it's good and we do not see the driver, but I do not know from inside ?

Thanks.
