True Wi-Fi Card?

I have an Android tablet and would like to use True wi-fi, it seems to be available in many hot spots around Bangkok. I went into a True shop in a mall and all I got was the usual blank stares as I said what I wanted. all they wanted to do was sell me a 3G dongle or aircard,

All I want is a card with a password so I can access wi-fi...Why is it so hard to convey that? What am I missing here?

BTW True is my ISP and TV provider but I believe those accounts have nothing to do with public wifi.
