[Myanmar] Arakan Commission To Begin Two-Day Visit

A 27-member commission formed by Burma’s President Thein Sein will head to Arakan State this week to investigate an outbreak of sectarian violence there in early June. “We will spend two days there, looking for real data and the real voice of the Rohingyas,†Zarganar told the German news agency Deutsche Presse-Agentur. Clashes between Arakanese Buddhists and Rohingya Muslims left scores dead and tens of thousands homeless. Meanwhile, Indonesia says that it will send former vice president Jusuf Kalla to Burma next month as a show of “solidarity with our Rohingya brothers.â€
