One Sided Divorce

Featured Replies

Hello everyone, i have a problem and need some advice.

Does anyone have experience with the 1 sided divorce? Is it possible to go family court without a lawyer?

I know it's more common for the farang to want the divorce and the Thai is being difficult. Now it's the other way around.

Any suggestions aside from contacting a lawyer? I would like to hear some experiences from someone who did go through this process themselves.

Thanks in advance,

A contested divorce (only one party wants to divorce) is only possible on the grounds mentioned in the law. Abandonment is one of them, but I believe can only be filed by the abandont party. Not by the party that left.

Not sure a lawyer is required, but could be advisable. if he doesn't co-operate it will be a long processs, as several summons must be send if he doesn't appear in court, before a judge will finaly go ahead with procedings.

Thanks, i think the best way would be to sign the papers together and get it over with.
