I don't know about mini buses, but there are daily buses from northern & southern bus terminal as well as lompraya bus + catamaran to Pha ngan.

The buses depart daily in the evening from the bus terminal and then ferry from donsak to KPG.

Lompraya bus departs from kaosan road in the evening also and goes to chumpon then catamaran ride to KPG.

thanks mole, can anyone give me more details, how does koh pang gnan compare to say koh chang or phuket ? really want to know about prices etc, i have heard its very quiet and also that it is very expensive like samui ?

If your talking about Koh Phangan.I either take bangkok air to samui then take the ferry to Hadrin pier or Thong Sala Pier.

Or go by plane, train to Surit thani. Then take the bus to Dunsak then take the Raja Ferry to Koh Phangan.

I'd agree will Moles way of getting to KP, Lomprayah Ferry.... unless you have big money to spend flying... wink.png Go directly to the Lomprayah office on Kosan Road, in BKK ..... then you won't pay "agent fees" ... bus leaves about 9 pm

What ever you do avoid doing the trip in a mini bus!

As for costs of places to stay it will vary to where you stay, anywhere from 300 to 400 baht a night to sky is the limit, 5 star resorts ...

I believe Full moon party is on Friday, that being the case, many places in Had Rin and parts of Ban Tai, will probably have minimum 3 days stay with inflated prices...

If you stay west, north west or north side of the island prices will generally be cheaper or not inflated during FMP.... most resorts have taxi service if you want to go to FMP....

As for what it is like, except for Haad Rin, it's pretty laid back.... certainly more basic than some parts of Samui or Phuket... but there are some nice places to stay.... it depends on your "life style"... and what you want... it's is not that big an Island, so nothing too far....whistling.gifsmile.png
