hi all

did my affirmation to marry last week. and the registry office this week.

under 50 with 1 child

non-o multi expires in a few months and i'd like to extend 1 year as opposed to running round trying to get a new 12 month non-o multi

my understanding from reading is that this needs either 400k in the bank (don't have that), or 40k per month income ?

i have loyalty fees paid to me from a past enterprise. paid into my uk bank at a rate of 250pounds per week, so about 50k per month.

it shows on my statement of the uk bank .. is that sufficient ? i normally just TT it to myself here in los once a month or take it out the atm each week.

do i need supporting documentation to verify what it is in addition to the statements as that would be hard to obtain now without going back to the UK to organise which then defies the object a bit as i could just renew my non-o multi if i was there.

You need a letter from the British Embassy so it will be whatever they accept

Sent from my GT-I9001 using Thaivisa Connect App

will they accept internet print out statements to get this letter do you know ?

and is there a length of time you have to be married before extending ?

does wifey need to come with me to immigration also.

i've read they also ask for a letter from the amphur confirming your still married. assume or hope this is not needed on a recent wedding

You and wife apply for extension during the last 30 days of your non immigrant O visa entry. She must be with you and have her ID card and home register (blue book where registered as living). You must have Embassy letter of income and (if asked) supporting documents proving this (good to have local bank account book showing some funds if asked). You will require marriage certificate and ledger entry of marriage (what you call letter from amphur - KR2 and KR3 forms) each time. 4x6cm photo(s) for the TM.7 application for extension form taken within last six months and photos together in home and outside with number shown (should include photo in bedroom of both of you and clothing hanging together). Signed copies of passport/visa/permitted to stay/departure card/her ID card/home register. Proof of residence address if not the same as home register. Some places will want supporting witness or two to confirm living together as husband and wife. Fee will be 1,900 baht but if any chance of having to travel outside of Thailand it is best to obtain a re-entry permit after getting the full one year extension as that will be required for any return to continue extension of stay.

A rough guide.

(6) In case of marriage with a Thai lady, the husband who is an alien must have an average annual income of not less than 40,000 baht per month or a money deposit in a local Thai bank of not less than 400,000 baht for the past 2 months for expenses within a year.

Letter from your Thai Bank showing balance and up to date bank book.

OR.

Letter from your Embassy showing income. Now may also need proof of income as back up.

Marriage Certificate

Marriage Registry entry.

Wife's Tabbien Baan and ID Card.

Your Passport.

Copies of everything.

Photos of you and your Wife in and around the house.

A map showing the way to your house.

Passport size photos and 1,900 Baht fee.

Take your Wife to be interviewed.

One or two witnesses may be required.

You will be given a 30 day under consideration stamp.

Go back in a month and get the remainder.
