Mario & Meghi (M&m) Restaurant

Featured Replies

I heard that Mario and Meghi sold their restaurant in Rawai.

Any more news?

When and where did you hear that? I was there last week and didn't hear anything from Mario about it.

Haven't had a thread about M & M pizzas for weeks, was wondering if all was ok.

not sure if its sold, but i was disappointed in the potions sizes last week ... a very big mistake in the food game is to start playing around reducing portions ( mine was pasta) quality was ok but 25 % down in size...and not cheap ....been doing the rounds between MM, Amalfi , Ellis and Modena ... i am not a big pizza eater but Francos at Modena is hard to beat ... Ellis had slipped badly IMO at the new location , prices up , quality slipping and ambience still a little above zero ... Amalfi good but expensive ... so its Modena for me ..

ps .i did hear ruskies next door may have been the buyer from the fish rest ..

This is just a regular rumour started most likely by jealous restaurant owners nearby.

Let me ask you, if you owned the busiest restaurant at this end of the island, would you sell?

I think not............

I would rather they increase the price, with justification, than reducing the portion size but this is happening in many places.

One might say that's the best time to sell.

But then it really depends on what your circumstances are doesn't it?

yes of course ..you dont stay at the top for very long in that game ... when they started on rawai beach the opposition was minimal ..now count the number of pizza shops just in rawai /nai harn ...i count about 8 ...over supply already ..

I just called Meghi to ask her, if it was true.

She said: " NOT TRUE".

Thanks Seabear!

The rumor mill around here is unbelievable at times!

From M&M's toward Nai Harn beach, just past Los Amigos, there was a small Italian place that is now defunct and that owner has been known to spread this rumor.

Also, if you wanted to open an Italian place, why would you do it near M&M's? Makes no business sense at all.

This is Thailand. You know the rules. If there's a successful business somewhere open a clone next door.
