Images Throw Thread Format Out Of Whack

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Have been noticing mainly in the Bikes section

that when someone posts an image it really throws off the whole page

width wise.

Like this...

Once post 4890 went up formatting got very wide due to the pic

Didn't the forum software automatically adjust for this in the past?

Thank You

I notice this often too, im using firefox latest one.

Thanks

Its still out of whack for me ill learn to live with it.

Looks like that is the answer :)

I do wonder if it is specific to the posters using a certain browser

as it seems most times the pictures either attached or linked do

size properly. Was more just curious as eventually the page will change & we get back to normal.

Thanks

I've already started a topic in the mods forum about this issue yesterday. I've run several different tests and find that Chrome, which has built in image sizing, does auto-size correctly. IE9 and FF15 do not. However, testing FF15 on photo sites with images over 3,000 wide it does behave correctly. Actually FF does have auto-resizing internally and is enabled by default but doesn't seem to work on TV. I have a 1920x1200 pixel display and the issue in the Bikes forum is significant.

The problem is the off-site linked photos are not being re-sized even though the board software has a switch to allow it and that switch is ON. Still investigating.

Seems odd about FF as it is all I ever used (15.1 at his time )& have both linked & posted my own pics.

They have always been resized properly

Although after uploading I always hit attach maybe that is a difference?

I have never uploaded using IE9 as I never really use IE except to see like in this case

if the pics still look large which they did.

Thanks for looking into it though.

Yes, there is a difference. Attached files that are uploaded from your drive to the forum, there is no problem with thumbnails. The problem is off site images that are embedded via a link is where it shows up.
