No Marlboro Cigarettes At 7-Eleven?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have been to a few 7-Elevens in the last couple of days and they are out of cigarettes (Marlboro) which is quite unusual. I noticed they only stock the Thai brands.

Would anyone know if this is temporary or is this a new policy?

Thanks wai.gif

Its normal. The cigarette tax just increased. CPALL will have to deal with Philip Morris before they start selling again. They will be back.

And he was a "real" man, not like the Marlboro poser:

"... But Wayne himself believed his lung cancer at least was the result of his six-pack-a-day cigarette habit, rolleyes.gif

If everybody that posted off topic replies got banned, TV would cease to exist. That includes me!

Dam marlboro smokers they must have moved onto lm daeng just been to two shops lm daeng mai mee

The mom and pop stores have them.

More likely they are holding back their existing stock so they can release them and charge the higher price, pocketing the difference themselves.

It's the first step in a radical government move to phase out smoking by removing ciggarettes from the market place by 2015. Apparently this move will reduce future costs for the 30B Health Care Scheme.

Just bought a pack at a Family Mart. They seemed to be fully stocked.

Stopped in a 7 on the motorway enroute to the airport today. They had nothing at all, a few packs of Mild 7 bah.gif and some Wonder Daeng (double bah.gif ). Seems there is a supply issue right now.

Turned out well though, I bought a carton of Marlboro Lights in KL airport for 64 Ringitts, approx 640 Baht. Will last me for the few days I am herebiggrin.png

My local 7 is totally out and it's been like it for a week. Can't be anything to do with the price increase because as soon as it was announced they started charging the higher price, which pissed me off somewhat whistling.gif
