[Myanmar] Top Chinese Official To Visit Burma

Featured Replies

China’s top legislator will visit Burma as part of a two-week, four-nation tour that began in Tehran on Sunday, according to the state-run China Daily newspaper. Wu Bangguo, the chairman of the Standing Committee of China’s National People’s Congress, is expected to raise the issue of bilateral cooperation projects and Chinese investment when he travels to Burma. Also on his itinerary are Sri Lanka and Fiji. Meanwhile, Ma Xiaotian, the deputy chief of general staff of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army, held talks with his Burmese counterpart, Soe Win, in Naypyidaw on Sept. 5.
