once again, in a continueing saga;

israeli friend with thai boyfriend now needs to get thai guy's birth certificate re-issued as his is partially destroyed. so where does his mother/sister in thailand (surin as far as i understand) have to go to get a new one issued? amphur he was born?(he was married and living in udon thani area recently)

and what do they need to get the cert. issued. he is here. he can do a power of attorney as he is now doing for police certificate but all places are saying he now needs to get the birth certificate taken care of. he has one but it is old and falling apart.

anyone?

consulate here isnt really good about providing details for her.. and things in thailand keep getting lost in translation and understanding of beurocracy.

He has to go to the Police first , Then Ampur.His ID card should be enough, the local Mayor has to sign a new birth certificate. He has to go in person . Unless his parents are still alive, they could get one.

thanx. he is in israel. he is trying to get his police record for doing a visa here (israel)... he cannot come to thailand w/o getting a re entry visa which he cannot get w/o a regular visa which he cannot get w/o all the other paper work which is what he is working on ; therefore the new birth certificate... which parents will have to get for him. so how do they do it. his id card is in thailand.

A copy can be obtained at the Amphoe where the birth was originally registered.

Anybody should be able to get a copy with a power of attorney from him. Even a bad copy of original birth certificate would be helpful when they go to Amphoe because it should have the registration number on it.
