India’s ambassador to Burma Villur Sundarajan Seshadri called on his country’s business community to seek opportunities in Burma’s fast-changing economy, according to a report by The Hindu. Speaking on Thursday, Seshadri mentioned Burma’s oil and gas sector, as well as mining, telecoms and event management, as potential areas of investment. He also noted that United Bank of India already has a license to open an office in Burma and the Exim Bank has applied for one. Meanwhile, on Wednesday, Burma’s consul general in India, Kyaw Swe Tint, said bilateral trade was expected to double by 2015.
