Hi guys I'm applying for a UK tourist visa for my GF. I'm trying to book an appointment to submit the visa and am being asked about criminal convictions + traffic offences.

She was the passenger on a motorbike whilst her ex boyfriend was riding, he was speeding, driving in the wrong lane, driving with an expired international licence and got pulled over. Apparently they both went down the police station and he had to pay a fine. The next part gets a bit hazy but apparently for whatever reason she ended up putting her name down on the report - what I don't fully understand is whether the officer recorded her as the driver or just put her name in additional details as someone to contact.

She is going to contact a police station later today to try to get what information they have on her. In the mean time I was wondering what people think the best thing to do? Shall I just say she has a driving offence? Is this likely to affect her application?

Many thanks. Lime

If she was the passenger then she is not guilty of any offence, the driver is.

But if in doubt, put a brief explanation in the additional information box or your sponsor's letter.

lime12, from what you wrote she did not have to pay any fine, did not get a receipt in her name for the payment of any fine. If this is the case, she or you can with a perfectly clean conscience state that she has no conviction for any traffic offence.
