Plodprasop's Floodwall Faces Test

First they were going to build super floodways to the sea - then they built a few walls.

First they were going to put monitoring cameras at all waterways then they put in measuring sticks.

Now we're at the stage where sandbags and plastic sheeting is the norm again. We are 350 Billion Baht further forward but several steps back.

You forgot the ten mile deep 100 mile long tunnel that could double to ease traffic.cheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gif

With people like this, being representive of those being at the helm of this country, it is quite aparent why they can brag 'Thailand has never been colonized'.

Plod is unique in several ways, namely being an exception to evolution of the physical being, if not in conjuction with brain development, can be surmised to lead to extinction.

The various ideas proposed by ministers, spokesmen/women, and various other civil servents, in the past year, could be used as a basis for an entire weekly comic section of this country.

Only a week? It can be a laugh a minute for years on end.

I, for one, believe our immaculate PM when she said that she would appoint the most qualified persons to cabinet.

Therefore I conclude that the runner up for Science Minister was, in fact, an actual wheel of cheese.

Seriously. This man is not the full baht.

Not the full baht? I imagine his baht is overflowing wink.png

Wealthiest man in this government, and looks like he will do anything to stay that way.

Thai Science and Technology minister comes through with a brainstorm idea!! Using plastic sheets underneath sandbags to prevent seepage. OMG call out to the world's greatest scientists, disaster experts and tell them this new award winning idea has to be implemented around the world. How can the Thai people actually believe that such idiotic ideas can form from a man this high up the food chain in their Scientific community! To believe he has the balls to actually allow the media to print his caveman theory is beside me. I suppose now he will ask for a bump in his raise for his Einstein moment since nothing is free in the LOS even moronic ideas from politicians.

And just how is this remarkable invention going to stop water seeping underneath the barrier which, as I understand it, was the main problem in the first place? This could even make matters worse as the magic plastic sheeting will offer less resistance to water flow than sandbags placed directly onto the ground!

DM

And it will wash away channels underneath the plastic sheets making a lovely little river to inundate the surrounding area.

This may come as a shock to some but he acquired a B.Sc degree at Kasetsart, a Masters at Oregon State and a Doctorate at Manitoba Uni. He is also reputed to be the wealthiest guy in Parliament. Some might think that it was money well invested but I couldn't possibly comment.

Is that baht or bath? One never knows given the level of written English here.
