September 28, 201213 yr I have yet to see a perfect silver match in any country. But then.....I maybe missing the ones that are perfect! You did. My chum could do it, called drifting. You can drift an area this small rather effectively especially with the surrounding contours and details to break the focus such as the door handles and such, there are a lot of angles happening in that one small space that make it much easier to mask without a lot of extra work, just finding someone here who can do it effectively is the real trick.... No masking in drifting paint. Geez you're really thicker then usual today, must be having one of those bad vertigo days or is it just the PMS returning?..I'm talking about "masking" the visual focus on the color difference once the work is completed but certainly it's necessary to mask objects like the door handles and such (being window frames) in close proximity unless they remove them which is seldom done here. September 28, 201213 yr I think you're talking about fading. perhaps different words but the paint guy understands. Thai paint guy? Yeah sure they do ..
September 30, 201213 yr Bondo ... works wonders ... quick and easy, sand down with a bit of elbow grease, then some primer base paint, followed by a trip to your local auto touch up ... done deal. Total = 5000 bht max (mostly depending on the "auto touch up".
October 1, 201213 yr I understand what you mean when you say drifting or floating or blending...unfortunately many people who claim to be auto painters (experts?) are sadly lacking in the skill.
October 1, 201213 yr Driving around Thailand with a car having one or more bullet holes might draw rather unhealthy attention from the BIB? Quite easy to close a hole in a car's carrosery. The door, or whatever part of the car, needs a respray. There might be a colour dfifference showing up after some time. I see many buy those stickers that look like a bullet hole. Ah, you beat me to it. I put a bullet hole sticker on a dozer, backhoe or dump truck if they screw up out in the field and then tell them they'll get the real thing if they keep costing me money with stupid mistakes. It's all in good humor but it does make them slow down and pay more attention, for a while anyway... Edited October 1, 201213 yr by hedonist44

October 2, 201213 yr I got there scratch marks on my hood because of cat which almost sheet itself because my dogs were trying to kill it. There is a few on there, next time I see that cat I will kill it (well not really) I hope I can buff it out...

There is a few on there, next time I see that cat I will kill it (well not really) I hope I can buff it out... Say What? No way!! Surely you jest! There was a thread on here a while ago where some members were trying to convince those of us who know better that a cat's claws weren't hard enough to cause scratches on a cars paint.. They were defensive cat owners of course... ... Edited October 2, 201213 yr by WarpSpeed
