[Myanmar] Migrant Children Get Chance To Take Exams In Burma

Karen State Chief Minister Zaw Min has agreed to allow the children of migrant workers in Thailand to take matriculation examinations in Burma following talks last week with the Mae Sot, Thailand-based Burmese Migrant Workers’ Education Committee (BMWEC), according to a report by DVB. The exams are mandatory for 10th grade students who wish to continue their studies in Burma. “This is a special privilege for migrant students [made] by the chief minister,†said the BMWEC’s director Naw Paw Re. The group said it would offer assistance to students who wish to register for the exams
