My 2011 pajero sport costs 76,000 thb for 1st class insurance with Tokyo Marine.

I chose them because their English is perfect and they include own mistakes as well, such as accidentally scratch my own car myself for example. For the clumsy ones ;-)

Now 76k is a lot of money! Does anyone know a good alternative which is a lot cheaper per year but with the same good 1st class policy as well as very good and prompt English support?

Thanks!

Ps. I don't know whether I need to post this here on in the cars/motor -forum. Sorry if I posted this in the wrong forum :$

Pss. Not looking just for quotes but information based on real experiences. AA seemed good

But they are not in BKK where I live but in pattaya only?

Although our nearest offices are in Pattaya and Hua Hin, it does not matter where you live as all can be arranged over the internet. We have many customers throughout Thailand and a ‘physical office is not required these days for insurance.

Will agree with your thoughts that premium is too expensive – suggest send us an inquiry for alternative quotes :

That's an insane price...

I would have guessed at about 15 to 20k for your yearly premium based on a CRV I used to have.

My current premium is 55k for a Range Rover (now worth 2MB but replacement parts are more expensive than a Mitsubishi)

I may be wrong but I suspect you are being shafted.... (did they offer you KY Jelly with that quote ?)

A ridiculous amount of money for your car insurance. Ok I only have a 4 year old Toyato Hillux top of the range but for my 1st class insurance I only pay 12,000B with Insurance Company LMG.

Think you should definetely do a lot of research

At 76K baht you are paying about 3 to 4 times more than you should for 1st Class insurance. I'm with LMG and 1st class insurance on my 2009 Fortuner, which I renewed just about a week ago, is 15,653 baht plus 1,100 baht VAT and 63 baht stamp duty for a grand total of 16,816 baht with any repairs to be done at a Toyota Dealership with genuine Toyota parts (which I've done once) versus the insurance company trying to send you to Somchai's Auto Repair Shop who may use aftermarker parts, 10M baht liability per accident, 300K baht bail bond insurance, no deductibles, etc. And my broker has been throwing in the separate 646 baht compulsory insurance for free. I've PMed you the broker I use here in Bangkok.

76K for 1st class insurance....wow!!!!!!!!!!

My Pajero Sport 2011 with Tokyo Marine costs me 29k and that's only because I changed the coverage from 7 persons to 5 Persons with increased coverage. The original price they offered me was in the 26K range.

That is seriously expensive. Perhaps you should try another insurance company. 24,000 to 26,000 sounds about right. 76,000baht, sorry to say sounds like you have been ripped off by either the insurance company or your salesperson.
