Problems With Dreambox Dm500Swonder If Some

Hello, wonder if somebody can help as technology kintergarten level . Had a dreambox dm500s with satellite dish ( the little red ones True used to provide) set up by some outside technitian but could not locate the guy anymore so no idea what the setup password .

To cut a long story short, it was working alright , can watch the Thai channels and some Thaicom channels and also some True fta channels , but the other night , got itchy fingers and press the yellow button on remote control ,goto addons and press keys update ,after that the screen gone to .....cannot connect to ispxxxxxxxxxx. then screen went back to like just after dreambox reboot ....

"BLUE DRAGON inside" then" waiting for Magic "....then screen just went blank (black ) . Tried and tried but cannot see any True fta channels not even the normal channels 3 , 5 , 9 etc.

Can somebody please advise what is the next step I should take ?

When I did something similar i just unplugged the power, waited 3 minutes then plugged it back in and it went back to the default settings and the usual channels.

Sounds like you did the opposite and reset it to factory default if everything has gone. simply re-flash it and off you go watching - see this wiki I wrote a few years ago on how to do all this - http://openpli.org/wiki/DM500

Thank you all. Things back to normal now, it happened that the internet line was not plugged in properly or something wrong with the isp. Anyway , now everything is fine , reflash not necessary .
