Hi all,

I need to leave Thailand urgently but am having no luck selling car. I was wondering is there anyway I can nominate a Thai friend to transfer ownership for me if Im out the country?

TIA

Most Thai government departments accept a standard form called Bai Mob Amnat for delegation of authority. But once you sign the form, you relinquish any control.

You would need to check if the Motor registry would accept this or have some extra requirement.

Hope you trust your friend!

Otherwise I'd think about taking it to a 'tent' and getting cash in your hand, a small loss is better than a total loss!

Yes, you can do it that way, the forms are e.g. available at the DLT's.

Remember though your friend needs to possess all paperwork, including your passport and visa (copies), workpermit/residence permit.

Ive tried the tents, no chance of a "small" loss unfortunately. The worst is Craigslist seems to be full of people offering nonsensical offers in hope of re-selling on for cash
