The first time i came to Thailand, on December 99, it was the coolest i experienced.

In Koh Chang i was wrapping myself in a blanket to go out in the morning, It must have been around 12/13 Celsius if not even less.

All around there were bonfires for the locals to warm their freezing hands, windy all the time, and at night the clearest skies.

Few weeks later, in Chiang Mai, i was told that many people in the countryside had died from the cold temperatures.

I was talking yesterday about missing the Highlands and going camping there.

In Khon Kaen last year one morning it was 7C.

Are you half-Scottis submaniac? You'd be in good company - may famous ones - Thongchai McIntyre(well 1/4 Scottish), Willie/Katriya McIntosh, Meechai Virivaidya etc. Also Bob Marley - not many people know his father was a Scotsman!
