Can you tell me what is the best technique, bait, to fish in the ping river in chiangmai, or similar river.

Now, i use a free iron weight on the line then a hook with a worm as a bait. Result: only baby catfishes...

There are a number of fish in Thai rivers that just don't get very big and several are catfish. I'm not familiar with the Ping, is the water moving pretty good? If so, look for an area of slower movement and try bread and ricebran bigger than a golf ball so it will last long enough for a decent fish to find it. Or use live bait (small fish or frogs) as some of the larger fish are preditors.

The kind of oval spring with several hooks for the rice bran. Do you think stiky rice wd work.
