Searching for a place to bring a client for new year eve dinner on Dec 31, 2012.

No buffet, Thai traditional show, Disco after dinner, view the fireworks

Any recommandation?

I'd start to check the 5 Star hotels, most of them offer something special for New Years Eve.

That might be a good idea indeed! Any suggestion for a High end cruise? I have seen that Marriott is chartering the Manhora ship.

They did a nice job. It will be a small group (maybe 15 or 20?) on the boat, so that is nice. This may not be hi end enough for you though?... But I think anybody would enjoy it.

Yok-Yor on the river do a fine feast. Can't get much closer to the fireworks if you tried.

River City side - simply ask the guard to call over the boat and hop aboard.
