I want to book to LOS for the end of april early may time.

Flights seem quite reasonable but as i will probably be going on my own,due to not being able to rely on the people who say they will go.they stiched me up last time leaving me traveling to BKK airport on my own,it wasnt too bad but worried me for half the holiday about getting there and getting home on my own.

The national express coach runs from norwich to heathrow, but apparently it doesnt drop off at terminal 3,only stops at the main station when i want to go.

where abouts is the main station at heathrow in regards to terminal 3.

no too sure about going by myself but if i do i really need to know where everything is as im a bit of a worrier :o

any info gratefully recieved :D

I've used a coach service once and it was a complete nightmare. It turned up 20 minutes late and the driver fell over laughing when I mentioned the timetable and asked if he was likely to make up some time. The route cleverly avoids all of the motorways until it meets the M25 and that was just one big queue. We made it but nearly one hour late. There is a bus station outside Terminal 3 so I don't know where they are thinking of dropping you. My journey to Heathrow is shorter than yours but the potential problems are probably much the same.

If you worry about these things, go my train. You would go into Liverpool Street, I think. There's a tube link at T3. An airport taxi from home may me no more expensive than the train and you have no walking or carrying to do - door to door. It's a long journey in total and I do what I can to reduce the hassle.

Hi mate - goodness, you really are a worrier!

If you make sure you arrive at Heathrow AT LEAST three hours before your flight, you will have plenty of time to sort out getting from the main station to the check-in and departure gates.

I must admit it can be a horribly confusing place for the first time traveller, but there are people you can ask at the point where you get off the coach, and plenty of staff inside the airport itself.

The main thing is to get there with plenty of time to spare, and of course these days you have to allow extra time for all the security searches and checks, so arrive AT the airport 3 hours ahead of the flight departure time, and if you can't find where to go, DON'T PANIC...just ask at the information desk inside - you have enough time.

Once you get there, go direct to the check-in line (they usually open check in at least two and a half hours before flight departure) and check in - then go direct to customs and immigration processing, as there is a security check to be done, and the queue can be fairly long.

Once you get "airside" (past customes etc) you must check the location of the gate from which you are to board the aircraft - there are maps showing the gate lounge locations - these also show an approximate time it will take to walk to each area - take notice of this, as some gates are a long way from the main concourse and shopping area.

Now making allowance for all that, you should have time to look around or have a cup of coffee or an OJ to calm the nerves... :o

Have a good trip - I am leaving BKK Monday night to go the other way - I arrive LHR Tuesday...hope the weather is kind!

You might want to think about flying with China Airlines. They fly out of Amsterdam but if you buy a ticket to Bangkok in the UK you'll get a connecting flight from Norwich thrown in.

Heathrow airport's terminals 1,2 & 3 are served by the bus station. It's not very far to any of those terminals, they're bunched together. It's T4 that is located away from the other three.

Surely not even people from Norwich are this dumb?!

Well,i was after info about the airport, didnt want to leave myself running at at the airport,as said before im new to this,i like to know things accurately,i could ask on the day,but i like to plan things in my head before the day in question.

As for your opinion, its a shame people feel they have to comment on things and insult people instead of answering the question at hand.

Thanks you for the advice given everybody else, :o shows what decent people you are, you can take time to help people out and not feel the need for insults, after all isnt this a message board to ask about what we dont know.

BTW GUESTHOUSE i dont come fom Norwich, but its better here than you can ever dream of / afford :D

have to admit how childish it was saying that, did try and reply with a thankyou to all who replied without it winding me up,just got me in the end.

dont call people dumb, when theres something youll want to know the answer to,however simple it may be to someone else i hope you get your reply and not wisecracks.

its said that a stranger is a friend you just dont know yet,i try and treat everybody with the respect they deserve untill they prove otherwise. otherwise was proven..

Don't let it upset you. We've all started with little knowledge and some fears and most people here will attempt to help, as you have seen. Others may forget that they once were in the same position. Keep asking and ignore the jokers. :o
