Google Play Gift Cards

I am new to Google Play store on my new Android phone (Galaxy Note 2)

I have been buying iTunes gift cards online (with Paypal connected to my Thai credit card) for quite some time..to buy apps, movies, songs, TV shows on the iTunes store for my iPhone/iPad/Apple TV...

for my Android devices, I have just been using free apps, but now want to buy apps ....

I feel nervous about directly inputting my credit card details into my Google Play store account.. (in the past, my iTunes account was hacked and balance drained--after I downloaded a free Chinese game app in the iTunes store onto my iPhone--Apple subsequently immediately refilled my account after I complained--they seemed to have the same problem with other customers... if I had a credit card directly inputted into my iTunes account, the hackers would have had a field day instead of access to the small gift card balance I had previously loaded in.)

QUESTION

therefore, is there anyway I can buy Google Play gift cards (or more precisely, gift card serial numbers) online with my Paypal account? or better yet, can I pay for Android apps in Google Play store with Paypal?
