Need Podiatrist To Debride And Treat Toenail Fungus -- Bangkok Or Pattaya

Featured Replies

Despite using all types of topical chemicals and even laser (in the UK), I have been unable to shake a 5-year fungal infection on a big toenail. I chose not to take antifungal tablets and might just go for debridement which is partial removal of the nail by grinding it down. It originated in Thailand so can anyone recommend a clinic or practitioner with experience of intractable local nail infections? Thanks.

In the end I was recommended to see Dr Orapan, lady dermatologist at Samitivej Hospital, Building B. She recommended anti-fungal tablets, pulsed one week per month for 3 months, together with Amorolfine topically.

I don't think podiatrists exist in Thailand. I had to have nail bed ablation surgery in Australia for ingrown toenails. The best I got from a doctor here was to take antibiotics for an ingrown toenail. (How dumb is that? Not a word about removing the obvious cause of infection). It cost me AUD $550. What a relief! The best money I've ever spent.

I took the tablets in the UK and it got rid of the infection on all of the four toes that were affected.

Contact the Diabetic Dept at Bangkok Hospital in Bangkok and ask to make an appointment with the foot care Dept , there is a clinic called Eurowell which does this service
