Stress Test

Good day all

I want to go for a full check up as i started to get little pin prick pains on the left side

of my chest a left arm that feels a bit lame at times, sometimes needle and pins in my

left hand. 4 Days ago my heart skipped a few beats and it felt like it was rolling around, not a good feeling. Will it be nesecary to do the hole stress test EKG or what ever it's called

sonar scan, tredmill ect, or can i skip all that and do a MRI or CT scan alone

The "pins and needles" feeling in the hand is very unlikely related to a heart problem but seems more due to a nerve root irritation in one of the neck vertebra; probably around C6/C7.

The heart palpitations is probably a separate issue altogether.

Both needs to be checked out and I would suggest a thorough medical check to have both evaluated and investigated.

And, as regards the heart issues, an MRTI or CT scan will nto help. You need a stress test and possibly a 24 hour monitoring of your heart rhythm (can be done as outpatient). And of course basic lab work (ncluding electrolytes and thryoid panel) to see if there are underlying metabolic problems that might cause arryhtmias (abonormal heart rhythms).

A "stress test" is no big deal and much less expensive than an MRI or CT. You just run on a treadmill with a blood pressure cuff and EKG leads attached.

All of the main hospitals have check up packages and you can get all this doen under one.

Spearate fro mthat you need to see an orthopedic specialist re the numbness in the arm. Depending on the results of Xray and ophysical exam that might need an MRI of the spine.

^{Well since the last post i was in hospital in Rio for 2 days and did the hole lot, bood tests x3, x-rays, EKG x 3, on the monotor for full night and day}

^{sonar scan x 2, on the tred mill for 12 min, varios drips injections and pills, at the end of all the said there is nothing wrong with you heart.}

^{Went home (Lamlukka) but still had the discomfort and feeling shit so i went to Bumrungrad, did all the blood tests again sonar scan which was much longer}

^{and in more detail than the one in Rio, x-rays , skipped the tredmill and did a Cat Scan.}

^{At the end of that they said there is nothing wrong with my heart, Cat Scan and Sonar Scan is all O/K, x-ray of the chest indecates all is clear but i still have}

^{the problem and it's driving me nuts feeling shit with this numb pain, discomfort whatever it is in my chest.}

Have they checked the spine/vertebra area as mentioned by FBN? I would also suspect a nerve problem so would be consulting a Neurologist. Having a wife with spinal stenosis having required several operations to remove calcium build up pressing on nerve bundle can attest to systems being far from the point of pressure (in her case lower lumbar - left leg pain).
