Crime Thai Police Face Backlash Over Ignored Influencer's Stalking Plea

Photo via Facebook/ Sanella Linvar In a shocking turn of events, Thai police have apologised to a social media influencer after initially dismissing her desperate appeals for help against a Burmese stalker. Linrada "Lin" Warakornsittichai, 28, shared her terrifying experience on her Facebook account, Sanella Linvar, revealing a Burmese man had tormented her for three days, inducing sleepless nights and fear of travelling alone. The saga began when the man contacted Lin via Instagram with an unsettling comment about her photos. Despite Lin's attempts to block him, he created over 20 new accounts to continue his pursuit, leading to a series of unsettling events. On April 26, he sent an ominous message, threatening her and revealing he knew her condominium’s location. He later appeared at her building but, fortunately, couldn't enter as Lin wasn't home. The situation escalated when the man acquired Lin's phone number, threatening her with life-threatening claims over the phone. Yet, when Lin approached the Bang Khun Thian Police Station, officers allegedly dismissed her fears, citing “nothing had happened yet” and failed to press charges. Despite having tangible evidence, the man was merely warned and then released, unfazed by the police’s inaction. It wasn't until Lin's story went viral online that the authorities took notice. Public pressure led to the arrest of the man, who faced charges of making threats and causing a public nuisance, culminating in a mere 1,000 baht fine. Police have since assured that the man will be deported following legal procedures. I hope some BM will keep us updated as to what fruit it was and whether the flesh of the fruit is actually poisonous or had been heavily doused with insecticide. Many times children have been poisoned because they put "ornamental" fruit not meant for consumption into their mouths. -
