Would You Choose A Prostitute Over A Good Girl?

I posted back in August about a break up with my Thai wife and now I'm moving on in my life. Most people in society would say its wrong to go near a prostitute and you should go for the most educated, well-off girl you can connect with. Having said this, when I look at Thai on-line dating websites, guys are such hypocrites. The nice, educated and well-spoken girls get minimal interest while the girls openly showing themselves in slutwear and letting it all hang out get 9 - 10 pages of comments by guys trying to meet them. It seems like guys say one thing but then act another way. Must be another reason why ladyboys are so popular in Thailand.

Anyways, a little off topic but related to my post. A month back I paid a Thai lady 1000 baht for sex. Since that time we are still living together and I wouldn't call it love by any means but we are happy together. Maybe because we have such low expectations of each other that we don't pretend and can be honest since there is so little to lose. We talk about her past 2 years of customers and she asks about my not so clean past. As long as we are happy with each other and aren't interested in other partners, things move along. She is not money hungry with Iphones and all that and only hooked part time at clubs when she needed some rent money. She used to work at a hair salon and would like to go back but for now she is going to school for English class. I help her our with money but she doesn't ask for anything and even cooks in our condo to save 100 baht. All in all, it works out pretty good for both of us. Its one thing to judge her for her choice to hook but what about my choice to solicit? As I said, I'm no better.

Around this same time, I've met a very proper girl , 30 years old has a Masters in Computer Engineering and is successful in her life. She initially contacted me on this dating website and she certainly has a lot of choices for partners but is happy being single for now. She has never asked about my home situation and I have never slept with her as I want to sort things out with the current partner. She is waiting for me to make some committment to her but I have no interest in playing any games with her and respect her too much to lie to her - for now I just tell her I want to take a little time to know each other more before we do anything and she is happy with that. If she knew I was living with an ex-hooker, she would stop all contact with me immediately as she just doesn't run in those kind of circles, I am the first farang she has even dated and she has real expectations of me if we are going to be boyfriend - girlfriend. She makes 75K baht a month and I would consider her higher end for social class standing and she isn't going to take any crap from me.

All my instincts say to leave my current situation and pursue the computer girl as she is trustworthy, beautiful and all the characteristics one would want in a long term girlfriend. I am fairly successful in my professional life, 41 years old and own considerable real estate in Thailand (even after my divorce).

Neither present partner or pending girl have any real idea of my material status as I keep things low key in Thailand so I don't see anyone trying to hook up just in order to improve their life. I would like to know how many would go against convention and stay with the prostitute you are happy with or go for the classy girl knowing you have to step your game up, start dressing classy and doing what it takes to fit in her social circles knowing its not really you but is what my peers and family would expect of you. My family would be horrified if they knew the truth of my personal life and the current girlfriend comes across as anything other than her past - no tatoos, loud voice, drinking or anything. No one I know has guessed a thing about her background as she is just so quiet and sweet.

since you are asking on others opinion, i would say no, not even a chance. im not as broad minded, just imagine if one day a ex customer approach for a deal. imagine telling you kids that their mum used to whore herself for rental money

What need is there to respond with this? It holds no value to the context of this thread and it's not even remotely attempting to offer an answer to the OP.

Are you perhaps jealous of the OP that he is a successful or that he has managed to attract the interests of a nice girl? Either way you come across as a bit of an idiot.

To the OP. I'd say do what makes you happy but often what the head and heart wants are 2 different things. Despite reaching what seems like some level of mutual acceptance with the ex hooker I would be wary.... If only to keep from getting stung. Long term which of the 2 so you see yourself with?

Rob8891, there are 2 types of foreigners in Thailand - those on the bottom and those on top. Guess who owns all those 50 million baht hilltop villas in Phuket? You see, after attaining a certain level of wealth, life becomes much easier as you avoid much of the bureaucracy that affects those of lesser means. Much like the Red Bull driver who killed the cop - why doesn't he have to go to jail while a low level farang would be given 20 years?

It is easy to buy real estate in Thailand through the use of a competent attorney - most was owned during our marriage and ownership was transferred through Canadian and Thai attorneys during the settlement.

This really has nothing to do with my post but I wanted to ensure I answered your question thoroughly so you wouldn't think I was lying. I have no reaosn to lie - I was just curious what others would do in my situation.
