Popular Post SiameseCurios
As per the title: Why is it almost impossible to meet a good girl here in Thailand? Thoughts. My views: 1. most foreign men (whether resident here or otherwise) don't speak Thai. 2. most foreign men lie to themselves. 3. most foreign men can't answer the question: why is this girl single? 4. most foreign men can't answer the question: why is this girl actually interested in me? 5. most foreign men meet girls in venues in which normal Thai girls would never set foot. 6. most foreign men NEVER meet girls in venues in which most foreign men would never set foot. 7. most foreign men can't answer the question: why did you have to come to Thailand to find love / a partner / a GF / a wife? My honest opinion: unless you speak Thai and have been here for years, forget it. Edited November 9, 2012 by SiameseCurios
bobbysamuels
i agree with all your points. i think speaking Thai is a big advantage. But it also comes down to what type of girl your looking for. If your happy to have a pro or bar girl who will treat you well but may never whole heartedly love you, then their a dime a dozen, just head down to your nearest touristy spot with a wallet full of cash and don't be shy throwing it around. but if your looking for a good thai girl then i would suggest not trying to meet them in go go bars and nightclubs but rather generic places such as the mall or through actual businesses such as girls who are working in retail or at least has a steady job. These types of girls that my teacher friends have met all tend to know some english. Things will get better as time progress because of the impact the whole ASEAN thing that is moving in. English is being looked at by growing businesses as an essential tool for the future. I teach at ECC and i'm always sent out to do business classes for banks, Supermarkets and retail chains so that is a sign of the growing importance of english. Just remember that in the end of the day picking up good girls here is like in most countries, you need to be yourself (otherwise what's the point), and work the law of averages. You may get knocked back 100 times, but all you need is one to come along and then you got to work up the courage to not let it pass you by.

Popular Post theblether
If they don't have tattoos I'm not interested in them. Everybody knows all the best Thai girls have tattoos. They are also highly educated cos they can speak English very well, some even speak some German and Swedish too. Best of all they like to drink, smoke and play pool. What else could a man ask for?

I have friends who teach at other EFL establishments. They meet great girls with great jobs, and seem happy. I have a lot of respect for "serious" English teachers. As you say: (Most of us aren't desirable partners by any standards) Let me be honest. Thai girls don't like me! It's because I eat too much garlic. I am the smelliest foreign man in Thailand! But seriously, I eat lots of garlic to keep my heart (and overall health) in good shape.

Thaddeus
As far as I am concerned, there are three ages of man (that's the male ones) after the night before. 1, Blow job or some other form of sexual gratification is paramount. 2. Number 1 plus breakfast, mainly revolving around bacon. 3. Breakfast, heavy on the bacon.

Suddenly they were under pressure to perform again when all they really wanted was a bacon butty. Shame, scientists should have more consideration.

Popular Post BigJohnnyBKK
It's not at all "nearly impossible", in fact IMO much easier than it is back home, but most people are lazy and don't think ahead about what's at stake when they start out in the relationship. I also think alcohol is a part of the problem.

How sad.

Put the alcohol thing to the back of your mind and enjoy yourself................... Well I see a high correlation between people totally screwing up their lives in so many ways and high levels of consumption. I agree that many sober fellows do the same, and now that I think about it the actual cause-and-effect direction may be more that screw-ups drink alcohol to excess, rather than that alcohol is impairing their judgement in choosing their partners. Thanks for pointing out that possibility.

I'm sure my nauseous and garlicky odor won't affect your ability to find (and ensnare) your "princesses". As for me, my princess pushes the garlic to one side and says "it's for you, my prince". manly100
Doctor: What seems to be the problem? Patient: I can't seem to find a woman who wants me. Doctor: Have you thought about a holiday in Thailand? Patient: I could use a holiday; I've been feeling lonely and depressed any medication for that? Doctor: Take the trip to Thailand first. Popular Post sirineou
When I read about all these failed relationships here in Thailand, I always think " There but for the grace of God goes I". I was lucky to meet my wife in a professionalism environment, and married a good girl. Better than I deserve. But it could have easily gone the other way. Most people don't come here on business, they come here on vacation, consequently they go to tourist areas and bars,so they meet what is available to them there. They really don't have access to the real Thailand. There are thousands and thousands of good girls out there, it is just that many of us will never meet them.
